Polaris SC 21 4 1 1 19 -73

Way down in /a/ division with one game to play there aren't too many important games left, but Week 21 set things in motion for a final match day promotion showdown. A final note is Tokyo Hello Kitties' run at perfection: as it stands, they've set records for every category and only need a win at home to be the second team to finish the season without a loss.

Tokyo Hello Kitties' (1st, 55pts, +48) blemish-free streak continued with a crucial 3-1 victory over Spichez (4th, 36pts, +7). While the win might mean very little to the Kitties, who sealed promotion last week, the loss dropped Spichez into 4th and out of the promotion zone. Real Handegg (3rd, 36pts, +8) took advantage, slighting dividedunity (11th, 15pts, -16) 1-0.

There's a three-way tie on points between 3rd and 5th with Beast Mode SC (5th, 36pts, +7) rounding out the trio, who kept pace with a 1-0 defeat of Magnets United (10th, 20pts, -12). Husie IF (2nd, 48pts, +37) drew with Earth Federation (8th, 23pts, -1) 1-1 but Husie is in no danger.

Prince FC (6th, 28pts, +4) trounced Polaris SC (12th, 4pts, -73) 4-0, and for every positive record set by Tokyo Hello Kitties, a negative one is set by Polaris, the crown jewel being a whopping goal differential of negative seventy-three. Bemidji Bullets (9th, 21pts, -10) might be amping themselves up to spoil the Hello Kitties, rolling over the Allahu Akbars (7th, 24pts, +1) 3-1.

WEEK 21 Recap: >shaw Division

Team GP Points Wins Draws Losses GD
Aussie Basements FC 21 43 13 4 4 25
Torquay Trolls 21 43 13 4 4 23
FC Waco 21 42 12 6 3 19
FC Namtaf 21 37 10 7 4 11
murdertrain 21 36 11 3 7 13
The Revenants 21 35 10 5 6 12
Diveclub Grassfoot 21 31 7 10 4 9
Cockney Welders 21 29 8 5 8 4
FC LUCAS 21 14 3 5 13 -27
Friendly Belgians FC 21 13 3 4 14 -27
Manchester Yellows 21 13 3 4 14 -31
Shoreline Wild 21 11 2 5 14 -31

Because of the uneven amount of teams, both >shaw and /a/ Divisions will finish their respective seasons 4 weeks before the others. Only one week remains, and while the three promoted teams from >shaw have long since been decided, there's some drama at the bottom. We'll start at the relegation zone.

Shoreline Wild (12th, 11pts, -31) drew 1-1 with murdertrain (5th, 36pts, +13) at home, which will undoubtedly derail their bid to stay in >shaw. They'll need a win in the last week and hope for the best. Luck might be on their side, as the Manchester Yellows (11th, 13pts, -31), lost to The Revenants (6th, 35pts, +12) at home 0-1. A 0-3 loss to Aussie Basements FC (1st, 43pts, +25) put Friendly Belgians (10th, 13pts, -27) back in the relegation zone in lieu of FC LUCAS (9th, 14pts, -27), who played spoiler by drawing with FC Waco (3rd, 42pts, +19).

With three points left to play for, there were no other meaningful matches aside from FC Namtaf's (4th, 37pts, +11) 2-2 draw with Diveclub Grassfoot (7th, 31pts, +9). Namtaf needed a huge win to have any chance at promotion after last week's draw, but coming back from being down 2-0 at halftime was not enough.

Torquay Trolls (2nd, 43pts, +23) hung onto a first half goal to defeat Cockney Welders (8th, 29pts, +4) 0-1 and were rewarded, along with Aussie Basements FC, with a free bump up in the rankings at the expense of FC Waco. Regardless, all three teams have secured promotion.

WEEK 21 Recap: Division 18-1

Team GP Points Wins Draws Losses GD
Panama Fudge Tunas 19 46 14 4 1 27
DOUK City FC 19 44 13 5 1 31
Bzzz AFC 20 41 13 2 5 35
AC Jacksonville 19 36 11 3 5 26
Widdly Scuds 19 36 11 3 5 12
Trollingham Town 19 34 10 4 5 19
Oh The Lulz 20 32 9 5 6 9
Laid-Off Autoworkers 19 27 8 3 8 -10
Sancho WTF 20 21 6 3 11 -4
Handegg FC 20 19 6 1 13 -22
Vikingstad FC 20 8 2 2 16 -39
Complete Fuckups 19 7 1 4 14 -31
Mudgeeraba FC 19 6 1 3 15 -53

As Panama Fudge Tunas and DOUK City duke it out for the top spot, the race for the third and final promotion spot heats up. With three teams outside the promotion zone still realistically in the hunt, it'll come down to the wire. Similar to BZZZZZZZ, the three relegation spots are more or less accounted for, so there's plenty for complacency in the middle of the pack.

Panama Fudge Tunas (1st, 46pts, +27) slipped back into first place after beating Vikingstad FC (11th, 8pts, -39) 2-0 thanks to two second half goals. The margin of error is quite slim, however, as they're only 2 points clear in first and 10 points from fourth. DOUK City FC (2nd, 44pts, +31) had a bye. Rounding out the top three is Bzzz AFC (3rd, 41pts, +35), who edged out Widdly Scuds (5th, 36pts, +12) 3-2 thanks to an 80th minute goal and a missed penalty. However, they're the only team in the promotion zone that has played 20 games.

Thanks to Widdly Scud's loss, coupled with a 2-1 victory over Sancho WTF (9th, 21pts, -4), AC Jacksonville (4th, 36pts, +26) was able to climb into 4th place. Still, the pressure is on after last season's collapse, and things aren't made any easier as they're only 2 points ahead of Trollingham Town (6th, 34pts, +19), who trounced Handegg FC (10th, 19pts, -22) 4-0. The window is rapidly closing on Oh The Lulz (7th, 32pts, +9), who edged out Mudgeeraba FC (13th, 6pts, -53) 1-0 away from home to stay in the promotion race. Having played 20 games, they only have 12 points left to play for and at best can place only 3rd.

At the bottom half of the table Laid-Off Autoworkers (8th, 27pts, -10) won a tight affair 1-0 over Complete Fuckups (12th, 7pts, -31) to secure their spot in 18-1 next season. Vikingstad FC, Complete Fuckups, and Mudgeeraba FC can collect (at best) 20, 22, and 21 points so there is a slight chances that Sancho WTF and Handegg FC can be relegated yet.

WEEK 21 Recap: BZZZZZZZ Division

Team GP Points Wins Draws Losses GD
Mild-Mannered Men 19 44 14 2 3 27
UMAD FC 19 39 13 0 6 25
Principality of Zeon 19 39 12 3 4 24
Trollchester United 19 39 12 3 4 24
FreeBags FC 20 37 11 4 5 24
Earth Federation 19 33 10 3 6 7
Dynasty 20 32 10 2 8 15
NEST FC 20 25 8 1 11 -3
The Good Game Kids 19 24 6 6 7 1
Strong Island 19 24 7 3 9 -2
Real Richmond 19 12 3 3 13 -25
Hamilton Hawks FC 20 9 2 3 15 -47
West Ham Olympic 20 4 1 1 18 -70

With 15 points left to fight over in the top flight, there are 7 teams that still have a chance, mathematically at least, at earning top honors in the BZZZZZZZ Division. Still, with 2 of 3 teams at the bottom already relegated, plenty of teams will be content to simply earn the required Development Points and challenge next season.

Mild-Mannered Men (1st, 44pts, +27) had an easy week, crushing a hapless West Ham Olympic (13th, 4pts, -70) that's quickly setting records for worst team in league history 5-1. They'll need it, as there's a three-way tie for second only 5 points behind, while 5th and 6th are 11 and 12 points behind respectively.

Trollchester United (4th, 39pts, +24) effectively ended NEST FC's (8th, 25pts, -3) chance at a run at the title with a 5-1 defeat. After defeating FreeBags FC (5th, 37pts, +24), Principality of Zeon (3rd, 39pts, +24) and Trollchester leapfrogged the defending champions. Trollchester along with Principality of Zeon are tied on points and goal differential, with Zeon ahead by merit of goals scored. UMAD FC (2nd, 39pts, +25) had a bye week.

Earth Federation (6th, 33pts, +7) has failed to live up to the pedigree inherited by SP Sultans, losing 1-6 to Strong Island (10th, 24pts, -2). Dynasty's (7th, 32pts, +15) impressive win streak was ended with a disappointing away draw to Real Richmond (11th, 12pts, -25). Earth Federation and Dynasty aren't too far off, but will need to pick up the pace if they want to have a legitimate chance at the title. If not, however, then they have plenty of room for error if they're looking to settle down and wait 'til next year. The only team in the relegation zone that HASN'T been mathematically relegated is Real Richmond, but they're 12 points behind the next team.

The Good Game Kids (9th, 24pts, +1) will probably feel aggrieved at an away draw again Hamilton Hawks (12th, 9pts, -47) but along with NEST FC and Strong Island would need to avoid all but an truly monumental collapse to be relegated.
